Golden ladle 2023
We would like to share 'The taste of real' with you, do you really want to experience it? It's all about our love of cooking and growing and our commitment to the world around us. But how does this really work?
We strongly believe in the power of local farms and the richness of seasonal produce. Therefore, we strive to source as many homegrown, local and seasonal ingredients as possible. This not only supports local businesses, but it also ensures that our dishes always contain the freshest, genuine and flavourful ingredients.
Our team is constantly working to reduce our carbon footprint. We power our entire business (restaurant and growing operation) with solar energy through our own solar panels and try to reduce our energy consumption. Moreover, we try to minimise the distance travelled by our ingredients to reduce CO2 emissions. For example, we do not use artificial fertilisers during cultivation and make our own compost from pig manure, crop residues and pruning material.

Food waste is a global problem, and we want to be part of the solution. We minimise food waste through smart sourcing, efficient kitchen processes and creative ingredient reuse methods.
Carefully separating our waste, we strive to recycle as much as possible, using a compost heap and fresh produce that we soak so that it keeps longer.
Our restaurant, Urban Farm and Shop are managed with sustainability as a core value. We have a team of growers, chefs and catering staff who support our sustainability goals and continuously look for ways to improve our services.
Winning the golden ladle recognises our commitment to a culinary and sustainable future. But most importantly, we hope you, our valued guests, will join us in wanting to be part of a greener, more responsible culinary world.
That's 'The taste of real'.
